ALT MAGAZINE

I haven't posted anything since march?

Could post some things that have gone on since march but it's too much and the majority of the images I would post are on my website AND lets face i don't want to show you the same images more then once (twice).

The Past month was eventful, busy, interesting. Went to Loughborough saw a man covered in gold body paint with no shoes on, casually standing at a bus stop(didn't have time to take a photo), then was told that the Mental health hospital let the patients out (whatever). A couple of days after that I went with a few members from Vanilla Galleries to a place called Islington Mill in Manchester to speak to the artist there and to just be nosey really. check out the website the people there are very friendly and down-to-earth. I recommend you visit this place in your life time, they do all sorts. We sat in on a crit where some artist shared their work and ideas then we were shown Stratum by Susie MacMurray. The very top floor of the massive building was covered in feathers. http://www.islingtonmill.com/news.php

The Great Frog.

American Idiot!

This is one girl that never fails to amaze me with her illustrations. I would blabber on & on about how mentally GOOD she is but her work speaks for her.

... TO GREENday.

Born this way.

'Born this way', is Lady Gaga's latest music video directed by Nick Knight earlier this year in New York.
We all know the Lady Gaga never fails to amaze us with her costumes, music videos and 'secret' sharing on TV but now she has made an even bigger impact by adding implants to her face. I guess I am sharing this because I find it interesting (hence the blog) and I am curious to know the reasoning behind her action? From what I have read it is hard to tell whether the implants are under the skin or just external prostheses only (I reckon it was for this video)....ANYWAY.
Born this Way is Styled by Nicola Formichetti (man behind Gaga's 'jaw- dropping' style) and features his new 'muse' Rick Genest AKA Zombie Rico Genest & Zombie boy.

If you didn't guess by now Rick Genest is the one with the skeletal body art. There are negative and positive opinions on the appearance of Genest's, some suggest that he is 'obviously only' known because of his tattoos "... model known more for his skeletal body art than his portfolio" and others are pleased to see he has made a name for himself. Personally I find Rico interesting and I look forward to seeing where he will 'pop-up' next. He is definitely one to keep your eye on.

Editorial.

Nick Knight, Vogue Italia

Show studios invited contemporary video editor Jamie Harley to capture a short fashion film of the fashion editorial by Nick Knight. INTERVIEW

Kate Moss is the world's most photograph woman (bold statement) but these series of photos taken for Italian Vogue December 2010 proves how versatile this women really is (in terms of 'looks') when you compare them with her appearance in latest issue of LOVE magazine. I know there is a lot of difference with hair and make-up but there are not many models that can pull this off. You would be right to think this is very cliché but this women never fails to amaze me.

Christina Smith.

Second part of my brief means I have to shoot my own editorial instead of working in a group of 5. I 'have' to take inspiration from our group editorial in order to shoot my own. I was told about a photographer a couple of months ago, named Christina Smith. I follow her blog and always keep my eye on her website and today I came across a new fashion story she posted online.
Slightly weird, strange...IRONIC to find that the designer I hope to use for my narrative, has been used in this set.

During summer 2010 a friend bought this albumand was pleased to see a really GOOD album cover ( It is a fucking 'good' photo). I thought that this photo was taken recently... maybe 2009 being the latest date. The image of model Ann Kirsten Kennis was actually taken in the 80's for a casting.

Here is what 125 Magazine had to say about it CLICK

Porcelain.

Approximately two weeks ago I saw Ricky Gervais at the Apollo in London and wanted to make a day of it, instead of just going up for the evening. We done some browsing throughout the day and occasionally purchased an item ( well i didn't). As we were searching for a place to drink tea, 'elegantly', we passed the Riflemaker Gallery. As I entered I wasn't to sure what my opinion was of the artists work displayed in front of me. After gathering my thoughts on a particular artist I carried on down some crooked stair case to find a Photographer that instantly caught my attention (because a massive photo was right infront of me) and because I have a slight 'obsession' with horses.

Anja Niemi

About a week before I saw these photos, I watched a programme called HORSEPOWER, hosted by Martin Clunes which i recommend you watch if you have an interest for horses.

Good'Ol Sheppey.

A couple of weeks ago i returned home to find a letter with a picture of a pirates flag on it. It described what event was going on (didn't read it all) but in large bold letters it stated "...Explosives will be demonstrated outside the homes of Naval Terrace." In the early hours of the same morning a group of people, each one dressed as 'real' pirates ( 'real', as in, their costumes weren't from some cheesy fancy dress shop that was owned by a strange little lady with no teeth and greasy black hair) with dirt covered on their face and pretend swords, insisted i attend the mini festival through Bluetown (sheerness) over the weekend.
After being persuaded, i went.
Here are a few photos i took.

Then after, I watched the ENGLAND V GERMANY match that we lost.
wasn't surprised.
Then took a journey to loughborough.
Stayed in a weird hotel.
Then came home.
